INSTRUCTIONS FOR PREPARATION
AND SUBMISSION OF ABSTRACTS


ABSTRACT DEADLINE: 15 March 2008

FORMAT CHECKLIST: Use this checklist in preparing your abstract.

FONT: Use Times Roman 12 point.

TITLE: Use upper case letters (bold and centered, followed by 1 empty line).

AUTHORSHIP: The first author will present the paper. Use given names first and surnames second of all authors. Continue with author's institutional affiliation(s), city, state, postal code and country (upper and lower case, centered, followed by 1 empty line).

TEXT: The text must have all the elements of a report: introduction, methods, results and conclusion (Margins: Left 1.5 in [3.8 cm]. Top, right and bottom, 1 in. [3.5 cm]. Right and left justified, paragraphs not indented, with 1 space between paragraphs). Do not exceed one 8.5 x 11 inch page OR one A4 page.

REFERENCES: Not required, may be placed in body of text or reference list following text.

ACKNOWLEDGMENTS: Not required.

PRESENTATION FORMAT: Indicate Poster or Oral presentation or No Preference during the upload procedure.

PROOFREAD YOUR COPY. ICRS will not be responsible for editorial errors. Change Fees are $25 per change after the final deadline. Changes will not be made until remittance is received.

PRESENTATION: The Programme Committee will attempt to allow your preferred mode of presentation (poster or oral) but reserves the right to make Programme changes, depending on the number and type of papers submitted. Please note that the committee will select the oral presentations on the basis of quality and balance from those abstracts whose authors have indicated this form of presentation. The preference you make is thus a request to the organising committee, not a guarantee. Late abstracts will not be considered.

POSTER DIMENSIONS: No larger than 47 inches, height x 33 inches, width (120 cm x 85 cm).

PUBLICATION: The 2008 abstracts will be published by the Society. Copyright will be held by the author(s) and the ICRS. These abstracts will be citable.

MEETING FORMAT NOTE: Oral presentations are limited to 10 minutes followed by 5 minutes for questions. Posters will be on display for 2 days (days 1- 2 or days 3-4).

* SUBMISSION:  Upload your abstract as a Microsoft Word or RTF file attachment as instructed. If there are figures or tables in your abstract, embed them in your abstract. MacIntosh files should be sent as a file attachment in Microsoft Word. When preparing your abstract, DO NOT use hard carriage returns at the end of lines.
